June 11
Mrs. Fowler has fussed because I haven’t written in a couple of weeks. So, here goes. Mrs. Fowler, Mrs. Fitzgerald, Mrs. Jennings and I are sitting at the district office working on science and social studies curriculum – not a lot of fun for us right now, but I hope we are creating many interesting and educational lessons for next year. Next Mrs. Jennings and I will be working for two weeks on math and science lessons – I’m not sure what happened to ”summer vacation” for teachers!
I’m sure lots of people have seen my husband’s picture - it has been spread all over Spartanburg in the Gibbs Cancer Center brochure. Though I’m not glad my husband has lung cancer, I hope he can inspire other people to fight this terrible disease. There are such wonderful new things they have discovered to fight cancer today. Cancer used to be an automatic death sentence. Now it is a battle to fight that can actually be a fair battle!
